Permaplaygroups

There are currently two Permaculture Playgroups in the Inner West – The Braybrook Sprouts and Permaplay.

Both Playgroups run between 9:30am and 11:30am every Monday during the school term. The Braybrook Sprouts meet up at Braybrook Community Centre Garden, Churchill Ave, Braybrook. Maidstone Permaplay is held at the Maidstone Community Garden.

Permaculture Playgroups are all about introducing children to gardens and the things that grow and live in them. Kids get up close to snails and caterpillars, play with mud and explore the  inner-urban wilderness.  Parents work together to make the garden productive, and the harvest is shared amongst participants.

Permaplaygroups have a sustainability focus, and participants are encouraged to share skills, tips and resources with other locals.

If you would like to visit one of our groups, set up a Permaplaygroup in your area, or get some info -  email De Chantal.

Hello, Wondering how old the little one needs to be before they can participate in the playgroup? My daughter is only 7 months (so a little too young yet!) but I’d like to involve her in something like this once she can walk…what is your advice? And how do I register interest / put my name down for a place in one of your groups?

  • Administrator:

    Hi Sarah
You ask an interesting question. I’ve passed your question onto our Permaplaygroup co-ordinators for a response. We’ll add the information onto the website as well.

    kind regards
    Debbie
