Permaculture Out West

We’re a group of people who where inspired by how Permaculture provides practical solutions. Our members live in based in the Western suburbs of Melbourne; Seddon, Footscray, Kingsville, Maidstone, Werribee and Moonee Ponds.We started in May 2009.

Our interests and activities focus around Permaculture and the many offshoots inspired by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren’s ground breaking work, Permaculture One. Go here for David Holmgren’s site, and here for more about Bill Mollison.

We carry out Permablitzes (go here to find out more), advocate on behalf of people for more community based gardens, runs courses on garden design, water systems, seed saving, preserving produce, and much much more.

We have meetings on the last Wednesday of every second month. The meeting is held at Maidstone Community Garden (Yardley St), and starts at 6pm. For more information, go to the POW Meeting page. Please feel free to come to one of our meetings to see what it’s all about.
